The mat teaches kids to stay calm when things get hard. That skill goes home with them — into school, into friendships, into life.

Youth BJJ class at NoWorries Academy
Structured by Age

The Right Class for Every Age

5–6
Cubs

Short, high-energy 30-minute classes built around movement, listening, and fun. We focus on motor skill development, balance, coordination, and learning to follow instructions — the foundation everything else is built on.

7–9
Youth

Foundational BJJ technique with more structure and drilling. Students learn basic positions, escapes, and takedowns — and start to understand how to think through a problem on the mat instead of reacting with emotion.

10–14
Kids

Intermediate-level training with a focus on technical development, competitive preparation, and leadership. Students in this group are developing their own game and learning to coach themselves and others.

On the Mat

What Your Child
Will Learn

BJJ teaches kids that size and strength aren't the answer — technique, patience, and thinking under pressure are. Those lessons transfer everywhere.

Coach working with youth BJJ students
  • 01
Fundamental BJJ PositionsGuard, mount, side control, back control — your child will understand the mat like a chess board, not a fight.
  • 02
Escapes & TakedownsThe ability to get out of bad positions and get back to their feet — practical self-defense skills built through drilling.
  • 03
Calm Under PressureWhen someone is on top of you, panic is the enemy. We train kids to breathe, think, and execute — one of the most valuable skills they'll ever develop.
  • 04
Respect & SportsmanshipEvery class starts and ends with a bow. Students learn to treat their training partners — and everyone they meet — with respect regardless of size, age, or rank.
  • 05
Goal-Setting & ProgressBelt progressions give kids a clear path and a reason to keep showing up. Each rank requires real skill development — not just attendance.
  • 06
How to Lose WellGetting tapped is part of the game. We teach kids to tap, reset, and figure out what they'll do differently next time. That mindset is priceless.
For Parents

What You'll See
at Home

Parents don't usually enroll their child because they want a martial artist. They enroll because they want something to change. Here's what we typically hear back within the first few weeks.

🎯
Better Focus

Teachers notice it. Parents notice it. The discipline of drilling and listening transfers directly into the classroom.

💪
More Confidence

Knowing they can handle themselves — physically and mentally — changes how kids carry themselves everywhere they go.

😤
Anger Management

The mat gives kids a healthy outlet. More importantly, it teaches them to stay in control when things don't go their way.

🤝
Respect at Home

Respect is drilled in every class — for coaches, for training partners, for themselves. It follows them home.
